A New Giveaway

Where has January gone? February has come around so quickly and I have a lovely giveaway to mark the start of my birthday month.

The giveaways are based around my favourite things and my favourite thread of all is AVAS. I have twenty skeins of Soie d'Alger to gift to one lucky contributor (your choice of colours subject to stock).

This wonderful prize has been sponsored by my favourite ONS in the UK.

Sewandso are committed to providing the best online retail experience you have had backed up with the largest selection of products at great prices with super fast deliveries. Their staff have excellent product knowledge and always go the extra mile.

Sewandso  want to know what you think of their company and if there are any products or improvements that you would like to see added to their website.

Please let them have your views in the comments box below and your name will be entered for the giveaway. This giveaway is open to all Contributors of both Scarlet Letter Year Blogs, whether you contribute yourself or send your posts to Nicola or Jo to post on your behalf.

The name of the winner will be drawn on Friday 8th February, 2013

In addition to this prize, everyone who comments with their opinions will receive a discount voucher for 20% off AVAS threads that can be used as many times as your like during the next three months.

This part is open to Contributors and Followers alike.  Please ensure I can contact you via email as I will need to send the discount code to you once you've made your comment.  If you are a "no-reply" commentor please let me know your email address.

Don't forget if you live outside the EU you are entitled to tax free shopping, click the icon on their home page so that the prices shown are VAT free. At today's conversion rate a skein of S d'Alger is $4.13 US or $3.95 AUS and you will have 20% off these prices. Details of their shipping costs can be found HERE.

I too have never shopped at SewandSew, but I've definitely heard of the site from my UK friends. I've only heard good things. What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks so much for the chance to win.

I have only shopped at SewandSew once, to get a Vervaco kit before my grandson was born. Excellent service. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway of the silks. I have never tried these silks either and am thrilled at a chance to win them. The discount coupon is GREAT!! Thanks.

This is a generous offer - I've often been tempted by the SewandSew website for some UK charts, but haven't purchased yet. The AVAS threads are high on my favourites list - I'd love to have more to stitch with soon :)

I love to "window shop" at Sew and Sew for the wonderful DMC designs and British designs we can't get here in the US. Some day, I'm going to treat myself to some of those nice things- or maybe I'll really splurge and fly "across the pond" and pick them up in person!

I've heard of Sewandso from my U.K. stitching friends but have never shopped there myself. Thank you for the very generous giveaway opportunity.

Well, I've now spent half the evening surfing the Sewandso website instead of actually stitching anything. The site is set up beautifully - very easy to navigate, and I quite liked the multible ways to browse.

I love the Soie d'Alger threads. The fact that they show whether or not a particular color is in stock is FABULOUS. I have to mail-order these threads anyway, and the price is reasonable (even with shipping to USA) as long as I order for an entire project rather than just one or two skeins at a time.

Thank you for showing me another source for AVAS!

I love using AVAS, although I have been a bit of a hoarder lately with my stash. I can't bring myself to use the ones I purchased for different projects.

I will have to sit down and have a look at this website this evening.

I ordered from SewandSew recently. Placed the order at 11am and it was here first thing next morning. Great site, easy to navigate too. I was thinking about changing to AVAS for Elizabeth Brain as I had tried a little bit of her with DMC but I feel silk would be better with the very fine linen.

Congratulations to Angie on winning Eliza and thank you again Nicola for inviting us to join your Scarlet Letter Year.

Thank you for another giveaway Nicola.

I have purchased from SewandSo once before, when I bought my Lowery. I had problems with delivery (the first time it was lost in the mail) and they very promptly sent another one out. Their customer service is first rate.

As for a suggestion, recently the grooves on the vertical bar of my stand became stripped. I couldn't get the screw that attaches the vertical rod to the base to tighten at all and thought I had lost the use of the stand. Luckily, I went to Home Depot when I was back in the USA last week and they were able to help me find a replacement screw that is longer and that will work. The only problem is that it doesn't fit into the well created by the bottom of the frame like the original does. It is fine on a carpet, but wouldn't work on a wood floor. It would be great if SewandSo could sell either replacement vertical rods or longer screws to go into the vertical rod when/if the rod becomes stripped.

I hope this makes sense. Thank you again for the additional giveaway.

Regards,
Heather

Thank you so much for the chart Nicola: I am thrilled!
I love Sew and So and have used them many times, they offer a wonderful fast and efficient service - cannot recommend them highly enough.
I shall be watching for the postman next week - another one for the Challenge!
A huge thank you x

Another fabulous giveaway!
I've shopped with Sew and So many times and would highly recommend them for service, competitive prices on a huge range of goods and reasonable postage charges.
If there is just one small thing I wish they would do differently and that is to offer smaller cuts of linen.

I've used SewandSo alot since my LNS closed. Their next day delivery is fantastic and very reliable. Their range is incredible, there's always a new category to discover!
Their Search facility seems to be improved now, it used to be a little random but seem to be much more specific now.
Once change I'd like to see is the ability to search fabrics by colour rather than manufacturer. At the moment if I want a pale green fabric I have to look in each of the manufacturer's categories rather than search by colour. It's a minor thing though!!

I love Sew and So. They are my favourite on-line shop and they can get AVAS to me quicker than trying to buy it in France, which I tried to do on my last visit. The service is excellent and I must give praise to Lisa Wheatley who has been very patient with me, although I must be a real pain in the ****. This is a generous discount which I will use to purchase the threads for Manifesto.

What a lovely site Sew and So has. This is the first time I have visited the site. It is very easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. I even found a few designers I am not familiar with.
