Emma Miles

I have completed the top portion and rolled the fabric down.  I thought I took a picture of the completed band but I can't find it so I'm adding a picture with it almost completed!  This morning I started the over one section, and I am not enjoying this.  I hope I will get into the rhythm of it because if I don't I'm afraid this will not get finished.  I'm working on 40 ct. and this may have been a mistake, lol!!

Hi Lynn,

I am working on Emma as well and I did the over one section in tent stitch. The blurb on the front of the chart says that is how the original was done so I decided to give that a try. On 40ct the over one was to densely packed for me so I found the tent was much better. I did the verse in over one cross stitch. I hope that helps you. Your progress is looking great.

Thanks Dawn. I did the first few stitches crossed then realized it was too much. Ripped that and switched to tent. I think it's going to be a slow go, but maybe I'll get much better!!

Emma is looking great. You could use a magnifier to help on the over one section.

Oh, it's so beautiful. Nicola should rename this group "The Enablers".

Hi Lynn, Your "Emma" is beautiful! I'm also stitching this sampler...just finished the "over one areas". I usually work in my hand, but for this section,I used a small padded hoop, pulled the fabric snug, turned on the Ott light and wore my #4 readers.I did a continental stitch for everything over one...I think if you try to cross these little stitches, they will buckle.Have fun with "Emma".

Lynn, what you've done so far looks great!! I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying Emma. I'm, also stitching her and I love it. The only thing with me was after about 6/7 weeks on just Emma I was getting a little bored working with so much green. So I started a new little project and worked on it for a couple days and now I'm about ready to go back to Emma for a few days. Maybe that would help you too, if you kinda stitched her on a rotation basis. I sure hope so anyway!! Good luck and I hope the stitching gets better for ya.

Over one on 40 ct. Sounds tough but I bet it will be amazing. It's gorgeous already.
