The Winners and a new giveaway

It has been a busy morning with three winners to be drawn. The builders were to hand so I asked them to do the honours.

The first name out of the hat was Barbara Hutson (drawn by Jo on the left who made my bars for Manifesto). Congratulations Barbara I hope you enjoy the spool candy as much as I enjoy mine.

The second name drawn was Krista (drawn by Ossie on the right). Well done Krista I can't wait to see your start on Emma Miles.

Don't forget to look inside the Hattie and Bea work book where Ann has tucked away some surprises.

Thank you Ann for donating this prize.

The draw prize for March is a pair of Sajou scissors so remember to post between now and the 14th of March to qualify.

The winner of the giveaway for A Stitch in Rhyme written by Marsha and very kindly donated by her is Cindy L.

Congratulations Cindy, there are some lovely verses and I hope you spend many happy hours reading through the collection.

Continuing with a month of giveaways next Friday I will be drawing a name for the chart Elizabeth Mitchell

and a Fat 1/4 of Lakeside Linen 40ct Vintage Woodsmoke on which to stitch her both sponsored by my dear husband Ray.

To qualify let me know in the comments below what your favourite linen is.

A big thank you to everyone for participating and Good Luck.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

As for my favorite linen--right now it's Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens. It's a perfect color for so many reproduction samplers.

Peace & Love,

What a wonderful surprise to wake up to today! I am so surprised and thrilled to win the Emma Miles chart. I have enjoyed watching many of you stitching her and she is a beauty. The Hattie and Bea work book looks absolutely gorgeous too. Thank you so much Ann for sponsoring this prize, and thank you to Nicola for coming up with this amazing way to celebrate your scarlet letter year with all of us!!

Nicola, my favorite linen is Lakeside linen as well as Zwiegart Belfast and Edinborough.

I've never stitched on Lakeside Linens so any thing would be fun to me! I do like the higher counts and am currently on a 40ct kick. As for colors, I agree with Margaret, there are so many it's hard to say.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners! My favorite linen is Lakeside Linen in either 36 ct or 40 ct. I can't pick just one color... there are so many gorgeous Lakeside linen colors.
Thanks Nicola for making this such a fun SAL. You and your DH Ray are very generous.

Congratulations winners!! You must be tickled pink this morning.

As to my favorite linen it would definitely be Lakeside followed closely by Edinborough. Too many pretty colors to pick just one.

Congratulations to all the winners!!

My absolute favorite go to linen - Graziano 40 ct (Ricamo) however much to my disappointment it is no longer being manufactured ( glad I still have about 2 yards) so I am now searching for a new favorite.

Congtaulations to all of the special winners this month ... enjoy! And again thank you to all who generously supplied the wonderful prizes.
hmmmm ... I'm not sure I have a favorite linen. Currently I'm stitching on linen from Scarlet Letter that is very nice. Generally I choose 40 count when stitching reproduction samplers. And I agree, Lakeside Linens are lovely with beautiful colors ... especially the vintage colors.

Congratulations to the lucky winners! My favorite linen base is probably 34ct Legacy but unfortunately no one overdyes it as far as I know. I mostly use and do love Lakeside in 36ct and I really enjoy the Sugar and Spice linen from Australia and Picture this Plus has some nice sampler colors too. Guess I'm just a linen lover since I have so many I like. Enjoy the wonderful weekend all~~ Melody

Oh My Gosh! I am gob-smacked!

I am so excited to have won the big prize. I had bookmarked the maker and thought some day soon I will order a spool caddy from him.
Please tell Jo I am throwing a big kiss his way.

What a wonderful surprise and congratulations to the other winners.

My favorite linen is Graziano. I love the colors that Pat at Lakeside Linens creates. I like the 45 ct. and miss the 40 ct.that is no longer available.

Congrats to the winners!! That's so sweet that Jo and Ossie drew the names!! Cute!! I would love a chance to win the lovely Elizabeth sampler! Hmm, favourite linen so far? I think it would have to be 40 ct. newcastle linen, any color. That Lakeside linen in woodsmoke looks amazing too.

Congrats to the very lucky winners!

My favorite linen these days is Lakeside Linens' 36-count Pecan Butter. I'm also very fond of their Maritme White.

Edinburgh linen 36 ct in flax, but I am dying to try the Lakeside Linen. Not quite made it to 40 ct yet but maybe if the eyes will let me.

Many gratulations to the winners. What lovely prizes. I love the way in which you get different folk to draw the names - it really does add to how special this is.

Elizabeth said...

Forgot to say - much as though I would love to win the draw, don't include me as I have just restarted Elizabeth Mitchell on linen (I had started on Aida but have fallen in love with linen).

My favourite linen at the moment is 28 ct Quaker linen, although I am happy to stitch on any linen really. Congrats to all of the winners.

My favorite linen is Lakeside Linens in V. Meadow Rue in 36 or 40ct.

Congrats to the winners!!!!!

I love lakeside linens the best... 36 and 40 cts in exemplary and meadow rue.....

Thank so much!!!!!

Congratulations to all the winners! My favorite linen is Lakeside in the higher counts -- 36 and 40. I recently bought some Gander linen in 45 and 50. And, I did do a small sampler on 50 count last year and loved it (even with failing eyesight:)) Thanks Nicola for all your generosity!!

Mindi said...

Congratulations to all the winners!

My favorite linen is Gander 38 count, but its hard to get in the US. Its the perfect compromise for me, since my eyes have trouble with 40 count now, unless I have absolutely perfect stitching conditions.

Lucky winners, congratulations!! My favorite linen s 40 ct. Vintage meadow rue by lakeside. Love it!!

Looks like I'm in the fan club, too. Lakeside Linen...right now,I'm stitching on Vintage Autumn Gold. But my old eyes don't like 40 count anymore - 32 count is more my speed.

Marlene said...

I love Lakeside Linens. That is my favorite all-time linen.
I prefer higher counts 36 and 40. I just use my special stitching glasses or my magnifier.
All colors are beautiful.

I haven't stitched enough to have a favorite linen yet.All the linens mentioned sound so lovely.I can't wait to try a few. At the moment I am using the linen that came with the Emma Miles kit.As for color I am kind of a cream or flax person.
I would like to congratulate this months winners.I just adored the spool/pincushion.

My preferred linen is Lakeside Linens. Whether or not it is a vintage dye depends on the sampler. Colour depends on the floss colours used. I look at the chart and if there is only a small amount or no "over one" sections I use 40ct otherwise I use 36ct.

Hi Nicola,

My favorite linens are Lakeside Linen 40ct Vintage Light Examplar and also Newcastle in ANY of the yummy colors.

Congratulations to all the winners!

I'm not much of a linen expert, I'm more of an evenweave gal. My favourite evenweave is 32 count Murano.

Linen-wise I'd choose a nice high count, a 36 or 40. I have some 40 count Newcastle that I'm enjoying stitching on. I'm going to have to acquire some Lakeside Linen since everyone recommends it so much!

Without any shadow of doubt, it has to be Lakeside Linens, fortunately now available in the UK.

If you had asked me last week for my favorite color, I would have said Lakeside Vintage Porcelain, this week it is Lakeside Vintage Pear!

Love this sampler pattern and what a great choice of linen!!! My absolute favorite is Lakeside linens. 40 and 45ct are my preferred counts. Love Woodsmoke, however there are sooo many gorgeous choices!! It all depends on the pattern for sure :) Congrats to all the winners this month, what great prizes!!!!

I like Lakeside linen vintage pear and meadow rue. I also like Picture this Plus Dabloon.

I'm new to picking out my own linen, as I had only stitched Scarlet Letter kits before now. Pretty excited about the 32 count Colourscapes Belfast linen I bought today. Color: Ale.

My favorite used to be R&R Reproductions. But now that I've found Lakeside Linens, I have to say that's my favorite linen. I love all the colours and the quality of the linen for stitching. Thanks for a chance to win a great give away.

Congratulations to all the winners. When I lived in the Midwest I had a wonderful LNS store with the most helpful people. I was stitching a sampler for a friend's wedding and the helpful staff convinced me to stitch it on this beautiful linen...But I do not remember what it was. Sadly the store has now closed and I have moved to California so the linen remains a mystery to this day. The closest I could find was Quaker linen in cream and that was lovely too. I would have to say that has been my recent favorite...grins...

Oh, what a surprize when I returned home today! Nicola and Marsha thank you so much for the wonderful book. I'm sure I will enjoy reading it.
Congratulations to the other winners too!
My favorite linens are Lakeside, Graziano and Edinburgh.

I love 40 count linen - as to shade and type, there are so many nice ones, it is very hard to choose.

Congratulations to the monthly winners! I adore the fact that the "names in a hat" are, indeed, drawn from a very elegant hat.

My linens have mostly come in kits and I don't know what they are. I've found I like linen with plump threads, rather than more open and heavily startched, and the Legacy I'm using for Rachel is good for that.

Everybody seems to love Lakeside - I hope to try it soon!

Congratulations to the winners. My favourite linen would be, like everyone else, Lakeside Linen in 36ct or 40ct.
