Progress after stitching some more last night - couldn't quite get settled so I jumped about a bit:

Day 11 Finished the whitework band
The Song of my Needle

Day11 - Satin stitching
The Song of my Needle

Day 11 - decided to withdraw threads and start the band with needleweaving
The Song of my Needle

Your skills are outstanding. Cutwork is really a leap of faith. I recommend practicing on a spare scrap of linen. With some practice it really isn't that difficult so long as you have a steady hand and a good scissors!
